Hands down, Ft. Worth for sure. I was very underwhelmed by the roses at the Dallas Arboretum.

Ft. Worth has a heritage section of old garden roses that I enjoy. Not as good as it used to be because someone has chopped the biggest of the plants down, but it is still a place I enjoy.

For roses? The Fort Worth Botanical Garden. Awesome collection.
For Japanese Gardens? The Fort Worth Botanical Garden. It's like another world in that Japanese garden.
For a communion with nature? The Fort Worth Botanical Garden
For no admission fee? The Fort Worth Botanical Garden

For everything else? The Dallas Arboretum. It's well-designed & refined.

Both are EXCELLENT at what they do, but as different as the cities themselves. You must visit both. Don't let the Dallas Arboretum admission price hinder you, it's worth it. We are so lucky to have these two cities right next to each other.

Thanks for the recommendations. I had a feeling the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens were going to be pretty awesome. I'll make it over the the Arboretum, too, I'm sure.

Now I can't wait to go to Ft. Worth. Randy, do you think the roses are blooming yet. Have you been yet?

No, I haven't been to the Ft Worth Botanical Garden yet this year. They probably have a few roses blooming now, because some in my garden have begun blooming in the last couple of days.

I've been to both, both gardens are beautiful. However, FWBG has the earthkind rose trial gardens among their roses. If you want to see some roses growing in "real world" conditions, check those out. You may want to catch the azaleas, bulbs, etc... at Dallas this month, roses in FW next month.
