For roses? The Fort Worth Botanical Garden. Awesome collection. For Japanese Gardens? The Fort Worth Botanical Garden. It's like another world in that Japanese garden. For a communion with nature? The Fort Worth Botanical Garden For no admission fee? The Fort Worth Botanical Garden For everything else? The Dallas Arboretum. It's well-designed & refined. Both are EXCELLENT at what they do, but as different as the cities themselves. You must visit both. Don't let the Dallas Arboretum admission price hinder you, it's worth it. We are so lucky to have these two cities right next to each other. Randy

Kristi-The jasmine is the native carolina jasmine you see blooming now. Beautiful yellow blooms, evergreen vine, my leaves turned a greenish purple, Mom's are in heavy woods so didn't get the frost I think and stayed green. Can be invasive, hers is in woods that haven't been touched for years til they moved in and it is up in the trees. I have had it on my windmill and it is easily trimmed back and doesn't grow 10 ft a day like my trumpet vine did! Sorry after digging at Mom's all day Sat. and then planting here all day Sunday, the muscle relaxers are in short supply! I AM IN PAIN TODAY! Mitch-- I would love some of your daylilies. I don't have any except the ones Sylvia is bringing me! I don't mind if they are unnamed, since I am just starting with them I will take anything. (And just call them pretty girls!!) Venessa -- I have a small box of quilting books from my Mom that I was going to put on ebay. I would love a repeat blooming rose bush (I think that is the term for an all summer bloomer) or one that is two toned. I don't know all the names you put down! Although from what I just wrote you should suggest one I'm not likely to kill!! I will email you with the names of the books I have tomorrow, you are welcome to them all. I wish I could go again, but I had plans this weekend. I was just there with my family this past Sunday for the Jap. festival. OMG, there were so many people. The weather was perfect and the scenery is soo beautiful!! I felt really relaxed and happy when I go there.

Two days in and I'm slowly killing PK's Texas Columbine and I don't know how to make it better. It is losing it's pretty flowers and some of the leaves look like they are dry and crispy. It got rain on Saturday and sun on Sunday and then I noticed it was dropping it's flowers. So I moved it to the shade. It seems like the leaves look dry, even though the soil is moist (but not soaked). and I watered it a bit more yesterday, so the soil feels damp but not soaked. Could it be it doesn't like the wind? I really love it and want to save it. Any tips would be appreciated.
