Can I plant in just-amended clay?

I finished building my first of three raised beds in my community garden yesterday. We dug down several inches into sticky, sticky clay, placed the bed in (with gopher protection on the bottom), and I filled with a combo of clay, soil amend, compost, garden soil, steer manure, and gypsum. I tried tilling as much of it together as I could, but there are still chunks of clay mixed in.

Now that 1/3 of the labor is done, I have a few questions... Is it too soon to do a soil test to see if I need to add any nutrients? Is there anything else I should add anyway, like blood/bone meal, lime, etc?

Can I start planting my spring veggies in it? Is it too soon after adding everything into the bed? I was hoping to get some last minute potatoes in there... Would root veggies even grow in a clay heavy soil?

Thanks in advance for the help!
