I took a few photos too in Feb. (the eternal optimist) now all I have to do is learn to post them. Don't hold your breath.

Please do post photos. This group understands all bits of rubbish and unfinished things - I think that we know that the garden that one sees in one's mind is not what the camera sees, and will forgive just about anything for a vicarious glimpse.

ah Anita, how thoughtful to remember - Phoebe Rosa will be 1 at the beginning of May - a whirlwind of babyish enthusiam.
Well, I have at least seen the photos but getting them onto my PC is another matter altogether. Helpful daughter has brought her laptop into the fray but as usual with bloody technology, there are always more obstacles to overcome (and for someone who does not own, or even know how to use a mobile phone, cannot drive and has never programmed anything more complex than an alarm clock, defeat looms eternally).

I don't know how to post pictures either. I managed to upload a couple to picasa web but I haven't managed to get them from there. Neither can I drive which astonished my 2-year-old granddaughter. Her comforting comment was that when I am as old as grandpa I'll be able to drive too. I am 16 days older than him, and I'll be 68 tomorrow! I have never felt the need to drive except for during the six months I spent in Wisconsin. I can do all my shopping on foot in my village and the train station is 10 minutes away if I should want to go to the big city.

Thick as a brick here with posting photos also. Have figured out how to use a digital camera and take it to the camera shop to have hard copy made.
So far thats it.

Happy 1st Anniversary! I am absolutely certain that you can accomplish this, Campanula (you too, Jeannie)!

If you can stick a coin in a pay phone (oops, no more of those) or a soda machine, you can download photos to your computer. Get a card reader (they're pretty cheap), plug it in to a USB port on the PC, stick your memory card in, and follow the directions (which admittedly are a bit convoluted) which include making a new destination folder in your My Pictures folder. I name the folder with the date.

I absolutely can not wait to see your garden, campanula!! It really is ratty when the hose or a plastic pot or flat appears in a lovely garden photo. My empty pots blow around in the wind because I'm so not diligent about picking up after myself. Oh, well, that's life.

Can't drive, huh? That's cute. :))

I can drive.....but not safely! In my very short driving life, I knocked over the lampost outside my house (I didn't see it, heard a huge bang and thought the engine had exploded), dragged another car out of a car park (that was the final straw) and backed into a chainlink fence (another thing I didn't see until the posts got ripped out of the ground too) - oh yeah, i took a whole row of wing mirrors for a ride - I had a number (large) of driving instructors who all threw in the towel and advised staying with a bicycle - which I do. I now have a photobucket account and will post details so you can waft through my family horror.

These are a bunch of pics which my daughter took (so there are lots of baby ones) and stuff I definately would not have on public view (I know there is a pic of myself looking like a complete crazy woman) but.....gotta start somewhere.
Sherry - wasn't even sure what a usb thingy was, and I dunno anything about memory cards - I just pointed my daughters camera and let her loose on the PC.
Am determined to get the hang of this though as I fail to keep any sort of coherent notebooks and in those dark january days, what could be nicer than looking to see what is to come. However, I am relying on your help and encouragement.

Like Marianne, I could not post pics. from Picasa either, but I have no problems with photobucket. To resize a photo in photobucket, just drag the mouse to the edge of the picture, and it will pop up resizing options. I choose the middle one, for average size (the top is largest, the lowest is smallest).

Once you paste the link into your forum message, it won't show the pictures - but once you hit the SUBMIT button to submit your message, then the pictures will show up! That might be my failure with Picasa, I'll try that again someday.
