Sounds to me like the moss is packed too tight!!! And coming from someplace like Proflowers, that wouldn't surprise me. They are not growers, they are just suppliers! I would assume their supplier does keep the moss packed tightly to cut down on watering. What you need to do is pull it out of the pot. Remove about a third of the moss from random areas on the root ball, loosen it up tease it out a little.Now stick the root ball back in the pot, you won't send it into shock. Sitting constantly in something wet and cold would be more shocking to me.You might want to incorporate a heating pad into the situation as well if you can. My orchids were just delighted when I added the heating pads to my set-up. I think they are much more important than humidity trays personally. Country bumpkin, I'm sorry for the pain you're going through now. Sending good thoughts to you. Monday DD and I both went to the doc after days of horrible coughing and cold stuff. DD had "just" a cold (a bad one) but I had a sinus infection and got drugged up for it. The prescription decongestant was $60 and written for 20 days supply! I told the pharmacist if I take it for 20 days I'm gonna need an intervention! She gave me 5 days for $15. We also dropped of my van Monday b/c the air would not blow, hot or cold, no fan. I like this mechanic, came from a good reference. But the problem was not what he first thought and it took 4 days to get it solved, and $650. Required taking the whole dash apart. Wednesday evening he called to say to pick it up Thursday, he was on reconnecting "wire 50 of 120." Good grief! I know I could never do that job! Wednesday evening the air in the house quit! Part needs replaced, $900 job can't be done til Tuesday next week. Fortunately, it's just one unit, so only the upstairs is hot. Today a relative called to ask to "borrow" money. I laughed. Best they'll get from me is a listening ear and any advice I can offer. This is the second relative in 2 months, evidently I have some relatives who have a false idea of my fincancial situation! Hopefully when I keep saying no they'll stop calling me. At least for money. ;o)

I also cannot see the strawberry & sage pictures. I can see a few of greta's photos though. Which look great! I love the peony! And I saw your lily photo, Cori Ann. I only have 1 lily in my garden. I like them, but they have issues here. Firstly, rabbits or squirrels sometimes get at them. Secondly, we have lily beetles here & I know quite a few people who just gave up on them because of the hassle. There are so many lovely kinds of them too! Maybe I'll try some new ones in my perennial bed. Well I did get over to my other garden centre & sure enough I ended up with another 2 roses. I ended up getting 1 Darcey Brussel & 1 Tess of the D'uberville. We'll see how they do here. So while I was there I also picked up some other stuff and I'm going to be doing a new garden bed in my front yard. I'm calling it the red bed! We have a 3 clump white birch in the front yard, it's kind of just in the middle. So I wanted to do something with it. It's a pain to mow around because the grass is almost right to the trunk. Anyways, my husband suggested making a new bed, but he wanted a few small grasses in it. So I'm doing reds, white, silvery blue. But it's predominately red. I'll post a picture when it's done. It's not a huge bed but it is sort of kidney/heart shaped. On the back side I'm doing some clumps of japanese blood grass with red flowered helenium and really compact blue fescues. Then on the large circles of the kidney; I'm planting munstead wood on one side & darcey brussel on the other. Then towards the middle at the front curve a couple red dianthus, and some artemisia, for some silvery white. Will probably add in some red and white annuals for fillers this year. Well now I have to start digging up the grass, not looking forward to that part at all. I have no problem getting it up, it's getting rid of it that's a pain. Fortunately, our soil is quite loose, so when I get chunks of sod up I let them dry out a bit in the sun than bang as much of the dirt off as I can. Then I can throw it in our compost/brown bags for pickup. But if they are too heavy they won't take them. It's not hard to do, but it's time consuming. If it was a bed in the backyard, I would probably make it using the cardboard and mulch method for killing off the grass. But the front yard needs to be done quickly!

OP: if you're still undecided, before you do anything or ask your builder to do anything: bring some balloons, painters tape, and string over to the house (and a step ladder.) From the two spots where the current electric boxes are, hang balloons about the same size and distance from the ceiling as lights you might consider, step back, take a picture. Now, same thing but might be a bigger/more blown up balloon (or balloons together), hang from the center of the ceiling as you would a chandelier or other light. Can't find the center of the room easily? Take more string, and tape it crosswise from corner to corner, again corner to corner, to make an X. Where the strings cross is the center of your ceiling. (If my description is confusing see below.) Now hang your balloon 'chandelier', step back, ponder, walk around under it, adjust the string as necessary, take a picture. Here's what I did before hanging a 3 light fixture in my kitchen. I moved my table under it, had a couple of meals there with the kids, and adjusted the strings as necessary. I kept it up for the electrician to see when he hung the new fixture in the spot where the old one was. (the old one is in the background of the picture.) This helped me get exactly what I wanted. :) This method just saved me some time and money for a new fixture in my master bedroom. I had picked out, but not purchased, a new fixture online. I got the dimensions and thought it would be fine as the ceiling in that room is a bit over 10'. I created a mockup based on the dimensions and it was HUGE. I still wasn't convinced so I hung my mockup in the room, and just laughed at the ridiculous look of what I thought I wanted. Found another one that will work much better. :)
