I live in Southern California and have a tree on my street I can't identify, which was planted by the city. It is a 25' tree with dark green leaves and white bark. It looks like the kind of tree a kid would draw - with a big round green crown. The flower is lilly-like, small, pink, and speckled. The fruit is about the size of a tennis ball, green and spiky, then turning brown and splitting from the top down to reveal large black seeds. The landscaping the city has used here, is fairly eclectic, with Brachychiton, Ceiba, Spathodea, etc...

This is the only tree in my neighborhood I don't recognize. If anyone has any ideas, please help!
