An unknown fruit bearing tree

artic

It is my first spring at my new house, and I'm just now getting used to the plants that are already here. I'm in Los Lunas NM -- zone 7. The previous home owner could not tell me what kind of tree this is I'm hoping someone here may help. (Follow the link below for a picture of said tree, leaf structure, bark structure, and an example of dried fruit)

This tree is a fairly large multi trunked tree. Currently it has many small cream colored flowers which honeybees seem to be quite fond of, their scent is nothing special. Littered around the tree are small dried red fruits (that I assume are from the tree). Though they are dry, their flesh is a brownish orange color, similar to that of an apple left out to brown. Each fruit contains one large wood colored seed. As a side note I can assume they are palatable even in their current state as my dog eats them when she can find them.

Anyone have any idea as to what my mystery tree might be?

-Thanks

Robert
