Not great fragrance but it should be hardy for you. I've never had any cane loss on mine over winter so you may get a little but otherwise it should do great!

I am in Zone 5 and have had Blaze for quite a few years. Have mine againt the house and used to wrap it and pull it down to the soil, then lay something on it to keep it down. It never got much winterkill. Actually had over 100 blooms on it one year. It finally cracked off at the base as it got older thu to being pulled down. I replaced it with improved blaze which I also pulled down but not as far last fall and laid a short but long wooden gate in front of it. Mine didn't get very much winterkill last winter either. Think being planted against the house is a big plus for it.

I would post that question over on the rose forum - I am pretty sure they wouldn't thrive well here, but I could very well be wrong :) The rose folks are VERY nice and helpful, just tell them what zone you are in and where exactly you are planning on planting it. Flower color on my monitor is just right, but 'Blaze' doesn't normally make such a show of stamens. Also the leaf color on my monitor is not as dark as I would expect. Sorry I don't have other nominations.
