Anybody have any particular surprises or disappointments?

Surprise = Quickfire Hydrangea

Foilage and stems stay strong and vigalent in FULL all day sun. Even wind!

Foilage stays a crisp, bright green. Stems are an amazing contrasting red.

Flowers start in late June and go through late August.

Fanstastic winter interest by leaving the dried flowers on.

Pruned off those flowers right before bud break...bloomed prolifically starting in late June.

Disappointment = Snowmound Spirea

White blooms are quite prolific but only last 2 weeks.

Problems with branch dieback, tough to prune it out

Not very drough tolerant
