Marjie, I agree with PG, some hoyas are more clingy (like yours, they want to grab ahold and wrap around other things) whereas others like to just hang there. I believe Hoya DS-70 is one that likes to hang (doesn't cling to things), whereas a H. carnosa likes to grab ahold of something and climb. Me personally, I don't like it climbing on things and wrapping around, makes it difficult if you change your mind to unwrap it from something. But, nothing wrong if you like that "style," everyone is different. Here's a photo of one of my H. carnosas ('Krimson Queen'). I think in time if the vines get heavy enough (with enough leaves), they will fall but they'll still try to cling to something if they find something to hold onto. I have two vines currently that are sticking in the air. Mine looks rather busy because I have long vines that I've looped back over the pot. If I un-looped them, they'd be almost touching the floor. Hi Patty, Thanks again for all your usefull info. You mention the fact that 'Kishu' is a smaller fruit, so small that it prevents it from being a grocery store citrus. This fact is one of the #1 reasons why I chose to buy it. Small fruits mature and ripen much faster. From what you told me before, it sounds like 'Page' will be the same way. I have had my 'ORo Blanco' now for 1 full year now. Over the past winter(I would say up to December), it had 4 nice sized fruits. They continued to grow and mature but sadly they all dropped, and I would say that they only maybe had another month or 2 to go before being fully mature and ripe. I know my problem was that I didn't have enough space for all my tropicals and tropical fruit trees. I alson new that they needed more light but I figure the tree was still too small and now it can concentrate on growing larger and taller. I still will be hoping to get my hands on the Minneola and hopefully if I make it to FL this summer, I can pick one up and ship it back home to me. If I cannot wait that long to get it(when I really want something like that, I tend to get impatient..LMAO!!) I will either order it from Four Winds or try to order it from my local nursery. Hi Mike, I am all ready growing my tropicals in my 2 bedrooms! One I use for figs, plumerias, and a few of my tropicals such as my passionfruit vine and my keylime. I also have Laura'a agave in there. The other I Have my HPS light in and that's where the rest are except for my 'Star Ruby' which is in my living room right now. When I went to Potratz, they had HPS or Hallide lights for sale along with T5's. I was really happy to see this! I plan on buying a new light set up here and there this summer. That way by the time winter roles around again, I will be all prepared and my newly growing citrus collection will have all the light they need...along with the mango and other tropical fruit collections! I really am going to have to stop otherwise I will not have anymore room in this apartment! Were going to have to make a decision on if were going to live in NY or if were going to move FLorida. You know I would much rather live in FL! Mike, I forgot to ask you....if you plan on another trip to Logees, PLEASE let me know!! I have a few things I would like to get there. Another 'Day' avocado, the yellow gardenia, and if they have a decent sized HEALTHY Minneola, I would like that too!! It really does make a BIG diffrence to have a trusted friend(not only a good friend like you but someone who also loves there plants!) to hand pick the plants. Hi Laura, WOW sounds like the PHL flower show was a success! Between you and I, I hate the noids! You don't know what you really have and then if you go and buy something else that's similar or not blooming, you run the risk of getting another noid! I did lose around 7 or 8 plumerias this winter but only a couple were really special. One of them was 'JJ Jenny' but Sonia is looking for another one for me as we speak. Thank god for people like you, Sonia, and Mike, and all the others that I haven't mentioned. You all have made it much eaier for me to get some of these harder to find plants/tropicals. If you stumble across a nice sized Minneola or Washington Navel, PLEASE grab it for me and I will reimburse you. I just don't want to spend another arm and a leg having to order them. Ooh, and yes Laura, I am trying to persuade you to become a co citrus horder with me! What you will find cool about this hobby is that citrus can be easily propogated from cuttings! Mike is doing this all ready, and I will be asking him for some tips so I can get growing my very own cuttings. I did it years ago with Ponderosa lemon. Hi Donna, much has happened in the last 7-8 months I have been to Iowa 3 times. Lost my Mother and Step Dad within 13 days of each other and just went back for my Nephew's funeral last month. I also started a new job and am helping to build the company so I am working about 80 hours a week, Senior Vice President I might add ;). Thank GOD this is a work at home job so I wont miss my Blues, even better, most of what I do is on the phone so I can be outside keeping an eye on them. Anybody in here good on the phones? I have not seen a Mrs. Blue yet. It will be interesting to see if hussy mama shows up for him or if she shows up with her second mate from last year (Joe Daddy). I think I have my 5 boxes set up far enough so that I could have both pairs. Im torn between hoping that I may get 3 nesting this year and not wanting them to start so early because of the possible bad weather. They will do what they will do. The Juncos are still here so I am sure we have not seen the last snow. I swear I feel like a beginner this time every year. Janie May you puttin up your camera box this year?

csk1, I'm sorry about your mom. If anyone is interested in an update about my situation, here goes: I made it pretty clear to my dad that this woman is not a part of my family, and never will be. (She cheated with my dad while my mom was still alive (and encouraged him to leave her dying bedside to go see her! among other atrocious acts), I'm not sure if I updated this post to include that piece of 'lovely' info). Therefore, I don't feel bad in the slightest in saying that I will never meet her; she will not attend my wedding; she will not hold any of my future babies, she's a non-entity as far as I am concerned and I just plain ain't interested in entertaining the tart's existence. Period. Now, I'm not putting all the blame on her, as my dad is obviously a real piece of work too (an understatement!), but I have to be related to him. He accepted that, and never mentioned her to me anymore, and still doesn't. According to my brother (who lives in the same town), my dad has a couple of widower friends who have recently gotten positively taken to the cleaners in divorces from their "from the funeral home to the wedding chapel" brides--losing paid for family homes and large chunks of pensions in the process. My dad has apparently backed off this relationship considerably, and is no longer considering marriage of any type. Last christmas, I spent the holidays at my fiancee's house, and saw my dad at my brother's wedding (he got married Dec. 23). This Christmas, we will again spend the holidays with my fiancee's family, but I intend to invite dad, brother, and sister-in-law to MY home a few days prior to celebrate. My house, my rules, needless to say. I guess my situation is a bit different than most--my dad and his "lady" friend betrayed my mother prior to her death--so it's far easier and more justified for me to have the stance that I do. But I do know a few other people whose parents remarried, and the situation is helped by the parent not forcing the idea of an "insta-family" on the children. The life with the spouse is distinct from their life as an original family, and it is always 100% clear to everyone that the original spouse was truly beloved, and always will be. That's the best you can hope for.
