Have any of you ever tried...
Comments (11)Name's Jim - you all figured that out, I expect - and I live in SE Vermont in a 1793 Federal colonial with a dog, cat, a cockatoo, two finches, and six budgies. My sister says that I am old as dirt and/or as old as the house, but the real number is 44 and she is 11 years my junior. Have been a florist and pro decorator for 25+ years, alongside being a DJ in clubs for 15 years, and graphic design and press layout. Moved to Vermont from South Florida in 2005 - got sick of paying huge property tax and insurance bills. (Though I do miss my pool...) I am generally friendly and a bit on the shy side. Studied music for years and years and have a particular love for Renaissance, ecclesiastical, and grand classical music. Yes, I like opera - studied it for a number of years. Bit of a shutterbug, love to read (mysteries and dense prose by dead Russians are fun for me), and I spend too many hours in used book stores. Oh, and I love old cemeteries. Ummmmm - what else would you like me to bore you dead with? ;-) Oh, yeah, I also have a Flickr album with my junk on it. Here is a link that might be useful: My Flickr pics...See MoreHave you tried any of these soapy perfumes?
Comments (14)Yes, sadly, Fleurissimo is expensive. My kids never know what to give me for Christmas, so I tell them to get me a bottle. It works out for everyone! I first found it at Harrod's in London. At that time, it was very hard to track down in the US. I only found one store that sold it; the store was in Seattle, so shipped it to me. Now it is more available and several of the better department stores carry it. However, I haven't found anyone who discounts it very much, even online. If you like it, buy the larger bottle. It lasts well and is much less expensive per ounce that the smaller. A word of warning: Do not be tempted to keep applying it because YOU no longer smell it. It's one of those perfumes of which the wearer loses the scent, unless applying nose to wrist. But everyone else can still smell it and love it. I get so many favorable comments every time I wear it. Some people do not even realize it's a perfume they smell, because it is not at all perfumy-smelling. It's a clear, light floral scent. I hope you enjoy the sample. Just remember to keep sniffing your wrist!...See MoreHave any of you tried a hairstyle app?

The first two look a little like mine if I go to bed with my hair wet! I just grabbed them from a google image search of medium-length curly hair. They do look messy in some eyes, but I can't find a way to make curly hair like mine look neat without a significant amount of time. And this "messy" look is in style now. Last weekend, I was at an outdoor sporting event and took a break from the wind by getting a coffee at a local shop. My hair looked like the first photo I posted--I literally had just gotten out of bed and did nothing to it that morning. The young girl who served me coffee complimented my hair. Her words were, "By the way, I love your hair." (I wanted to hug her... they probably train them to say that to women my age!) I'm 45, and to have someone more than 20 years my junior give me a compliment--trained or not!--made my day. Yes, I'm both vain like that and appreciative that, at my age, I still have some flair. Call it messy. For me, it's easy and makes me feel good. I'll take it!...See MoreHave You Tried Any Product New to You and like or dislike?
Comments (53)Nature's Bounty (I think) Hair, Skin, and Nails supplement. I wore acrylic nails for about 25 years. When my lady passed, and the younger crowd started that new "short, thick, gluncky look", I gave up. That was at least 15 years ago. My nails never recovered. Wouldn't grow, would peel apart like layers of old parchment paper, were so thin and brittle ... my fine, thin, hair would not grow past my shoulder blades. I've been taking this about two months. My hair is/ was down to my butt (I got it cut tonight to mid-back - the gal could not stop talking about how silky, and full, my hair was! She had another stylist come over, and they just kept running their fingers through my hair. Husband asked me if I was purring!) My nails are fabulous. Strong and healthy! I have to trim them every weekend, and be careful rubbing my eyes, or scratching an itch, because they are so strong, and long, that I'm not used to them yet. On the flip side, I also have to soak my feet and give myself a pedi every week, because the toenails are getting just as long, and strong! LOL...See Moremorz8 - Washington Coast
