Neighbor planted hedge of Hemlocks 4-6 inches from property line
Comments (20)Geeze Mere... We paved our driveway 2 years ago. The guy did a lousy job, it squished out and onto the neighbors property. The only way to remove it is to cut it out. We haven't done that yet, although we planned to. Have the paving guy come back and talk to him about doing that. Hemlocks are huge. What was she thinking? I think I would get the fence guy out pronto, think about getting the fence put in now. They will surely grow over the line, if you cut them on your side it totally ruins the look. Are you going to have a surveyer come out? Well, one good thing to come of this, she won't be borrowing the mower lol I'm so sick of neighbors. You try to be nice then get pooped on. Wonder if she'll let you see the kids any more. That's the hardest. I was relieved when my iron borrowing neighbor moved, some of the stunts she pulled were low. I don't get it. She borrowed & broken my iron & 2 cell phones, yet I'm the one that's the (insert word here)... Halloween they brought the kids over, hadn't seen them in months. I was then outside working in the garden, kneeling on their property... Out she comes with the 3 youngest to pick up the oldest from the bus... She puts my little sweetie girl on her right side, then proceeds to drive the carriage on the grass, walking as far from me as possible. She made sure my little sweetie girl didn't see me. I didn't get to say good bye to the kids. The mother was shipping them off to their G'ma's, they were loaded in the car, my husband almost didn't get to say goodbye. It's probably for the best, it hurt me to see the kids go, couldn't imagine how the little ones felt. Funny how people think. She swore to everyone that would listen that I gave her a broken iron, which is hilarious if you know me. I'm so anal about replacing things I think are going. Worked fine to iron my clothes for dad's viewing. I wonder if yours will start telling stories too. Mere the home-wrecker. If she was so worried about her husband doing something behind her back, why did she even start a friendship?...See MorePlease help my property line delima
Comments (8)Perhaps you should have left the fence up for awhile longer and planted your evergreens in front of it. BTW, how wide do your evergreens get? Maybe I misunderstood, but 2 feet onto your property does not provide much of space for expansion of the evergreens from back to front. It sounded like you provided plenty of space side to side for them. Can you lasagna bed the whole thing? Put down 8-10 pages of damp paper, or better yet, cardboard and cover the whole area with a nice thick layer of mulch. That would keep it neat and grassless, but it is a big job. Mulching and re-mulching periodically would, however, help get the area ready for planting when you are ready to do it. Much as I hate using the stuff, this might be an area for landscape fabric. Use something like Round-up to kill off the remaining grass, put down the landscape fabric, and a thing layer of mulch on top. Renew mulch & respray with Round-up periodically to get rid of any weeds or plant overgrowth from your neighbor. Perhaps you local community provides free wood chips/mulch that you could use, or maybe you could do a section at a time. BTW, there is nothing wrong with leaving grass around the trees, but if you think that your neighbor will start planting around them, then you might be better off mulching the area (where you can quietly go in and occasionally Round-up any green stuff encroaching on your property)....See MoreWould love feedback on my plan for property line
Comments (0)NE PA, Zone 6. Plan to minimize the impact of the possible development of neighboring land in ways that will still be improvements if the development does not go through. Tentative Plan, mocked-up google map attached. Goals: • add no/low maintenance trees and tall shrubs, budget tight • filter site line to highway and possible development • shield building from increased traffic • stop mowing adjacent to pool to reduce maintenance • increase pool privacy • shelter buildings and improve stormwater management Spring 2018 • Plan landscaping. • Create mulch only area, shown in brown, to kill grass and prepare for future plantings. Weed control this season. Return lawn over property line to nature. • Plant limited number of bare root or sapling versions of trees and main shrubs as maturity takes time but planting inhibits weed control. Spring 2019 • Add plants, expand mulch are to hill between the two mulched areas Considerations: • Area currently partly shady, more sun after neighboring trees removed • Heavy deer area, will be less • Evergreen or low shed • Do not encourage box elder bug • Place to allow for eventual size • Review landscape as to property line. Return area over property line to nature. Mulch? Seed? Ignore? Suggestions for adjustment of plan, placement, species, methods etc welcome. Thank you April...See MoreMark property lines without upsetting neighbor

There are many other monster ramblers too, you could do different ramblers.......Gardenia (rose rambler) and mme. Alfred Carrier repeat, and they're very fragrant .....just tell him you are into ramblers now.
