I've never heard a two year rule before. I know that I am physically incapable of waiting that long:) There's just no way. I think any caution like that should be based on if you had a specific problem with a rose. Was there an issue with the plant that was there previously? And what was that issue? If the rose was just old or did not thrive there for issues of light or something like that you should be able to replant at your convenience. The two year thing seems rather restricting. Something else to think about is 'planting' a rose in a pot. There are a couple of threads addressing that issue on the this forum. Basically pot the rose up in the appropriate sized container and plant the whole thing in the ground. And when you're ready to plant the rose in the earth you can do so. Hi Laura, I live maybe 15 minutes from you, in Washington, MI. I would be interested in your rose hybrid tea roses and shrub roses. I have hostas, though unnamed but you could always stop by and visit my gardens and see what you like. I have lots of perennials. I could possibly even get you some blood grass. Let me know. Debbie

Yes, due to the rain it was canceled, hopefully next weekend will be good for digging. I wish more people was interested for some plants cause I have a lot of babies popping up. I also have some Brazilian Rock Rose these are great for container planting too, I had mine in a container the first year and the over wintered in the pots outside just fine. So if you know of anyone else looking for some plants you can dig up extras.
