Glad to help, Silversword. As an additional update. It has been 5 days since my posting, and I have continued my nightly regimen using just witch hazel and cotton balls. I notice several days ago that I no longer had swelling in my ankles and as of tonight, the biggest patch of broken veins has diminished remarkably. There is just one vein showing there and it is looking pale. I feel like I've stumbled on a miracle! Keep it up, the results are fast. I rub it all around the patches I can see and behind my knees where I know there are some veins, also around the outer edge of my feet where I can see lots of veins. I never expected such quick results, and I was astonished that my swollen ankles aren't swollen at all anymore. It never occurred that could happen. Just because of some arthritis, I've also been using it on my hands and arms hoping better circulation will ease some of the pain in my fingers. Nothing noticeable on that yet, but it can't hurt to try. Zhizara

I planted a "slow growing" 'conversation piece' azalea last year next to a gardenia. It grew so fast that it almost grew up and over the gardenia, so I moved it to a new spot this winter where it could grow. It was a 1 gallon specimen when planted. How big of a pot? I usually buy plants that are at least in 1 gallon pots, but you could raise the azalea in a container until it gets a little bigger. I guess it is worth a try. What have you got to lose? (besides a few dollars)

I have 2 problems, after repotting all the plants into big grow bags. My Big bertha bell pepper is about the same height as it was in the smaller 2 gallon container (except that it has grown the first fruit - ie. pepper - doubling its size in about 2 weeks of in this 25 G container). The pepper is little over 2 inches, but it will get to atleast 6 inches (according to Bonnie). The plant size or leaves has not dramatically changed (as is the case with my eggplant which was also transplanted at the same time). The height has stayed around the same 1 feet, since repotting. I have not pruned this since i got it, and it has about 16 leaves (and some leave buds that popped up in last couple of days). Should i take out the fruit (assuming that it is eating up all the growth energy) that is at the bottom of this plant ? Should i prune into only 2 branches (like seen in some youtube videos on pepper plants ? ) My tomato (ACE 55) has curled up leaves. Even the leaves that are young and at top, are curling on the edges even though they look green and healthy. I am watering all the grow bags once in 2 days and the 1 inch below the top (ie. top has mulch is 1 inch in height), the potting mix stays moist to the touch. All plants are in CA sunlight of atleast 8 hours / day. There is enough slow release fertilizer in the grow bag and i am feeding liquid fert once a week. In the 2 weeks of repotting this, there are about 5 tomatoes that have started up. The bottom leaves have some disease (fungal i guess), but the top looks good. I am spraying Neem oil + water mix once a week. Why the leaves curl at top ?

I have some permanently in pots, 10 years now for some. As long as the pots are large enough and the rose does not get root bound they should be fine. For climbers they should be large enough to put a stand alone trellis in for supporting the rose. If the rose does get root bound you can do a root pruning. Cut the rose back some, slip out the root ball and shave the sides and bottom and refill the pot and replant the rose. But it should take a few years at least for that to happen. You don't say how small the other pots are. Do you have pictures? At any rate as bare roots they should be fine for the first season at least. I had a situation where I had to use ordinary dollar store buckets for a season and they did just fine. Eek! Garden soil is never a good choice for potting anything. It is too dense and heavy and will not drain properly. If you can, mix it with what ever you can find to lighten it up, sand, peat, perlite, whatever. Otherwise you'll have to watch very carefully to make sure your pots don't get water logged. Drainage is the key to roses in pots.
