Celeste- Wow, that is just breathtaking! Michael- You have me a little concerned about the color but I wonder if in the south here the sun would tone the color down? I'm loving the color I see in the pictures but I know that's different then seeing it in person. Lynn- Thank you for telling me about RU having it under a different name. I had looked on there to see if they ha it because I wanted to add it too my order coming this month but didn't see it listed. Now I know what I can add it if I want which I think I may.Yay! I was hoping somone might grow it as a cascading shrub as that is how I was thinking of growing it. How would you think it would look in a bed with Buff Beauty (on arbor), Cornelia, Charlstonian (small pillar), Blumenschmidt, Belinda, and Mrs.D Cross? I would put Rosa Uetersen at the far end as a cascading shrub. What do you all think? Overall you all seem very happy with it. Looks like I will be adding her to my order.:O) Now if this rain will ever let up enough to dry out the ground so I can get some work done out there. This has been the wettest/coldest winter in a loong time. ~Meghan

They are two entirely different types of roses... I do have both and they both repeat bloom well. The spring flush on RU greatly exceeds that of CPM. However, CPM is a quicker repeater with more regular bloom production throughout the season. RU is essentially a large 2 flush bloomer, (spring and fall) with a few blooms in between the seasonal flushes. In terms of winter hardiness and disease resistance, there is no comparison. RU is significantly better in both terms than CPM. Both are very beautiful, fragrant and good roses. Get both of them. :) However, if you could only have one of them, then I'd go with RU in your zone and area.

Oh wow! You got some nice roses!!! Going to Sam's is always dangerous for me. This year I went to get a big bag of fertilizer (which is awesome btw) and came back with 4 roses. Were people picking strawberries yet? I've had my Quadra for a couple of years now. It was purchased as a band so it started out really small. My only complaint about this rose is that it does take some time to really get going. I believe I've heard the same thing on these forums as well. Someone posted a goregous pic of Quadra trained up an arbor on Help Me Find. I think you'll really like this one. You should keep Fantin Latour. Of course the fact that I've had it on my wish list for years has nothing to do with it... But really, you got 3 absolutely outstanding once bloomers and 3 repeat bloomers. And if you go back down there you risk bringing home more roses. But if you do go look for Dakota's Song. It's one of my absolute favorites out of many, many roses in my garden. Hi Carol, shading it with other plants; encouraging all the growth possible to cover the wires attached to the wall for it to grow on; keeping the plant well watered in an effort to replace as much of the lost moisture as quickly as possible and waiting until the hottest part of the season was through; pushing the plant with fertilizer and disbudding until it covered enough of it to protect it the following year and beyond. It was a balancing act, with lots of washing the plant out with the hose to clean out debris, bugs and rehydrating the plant as it grew. In this climate, all summer and into fall we have spiders building webs in plants on walls, so washing them out regularly keeps debris from building up and reduces potential for spider mites. All of which encourages faster growth. I fed it regularly with a mixture of both organic and inorganic fertilizers and copious water. The drainage there is very good. The hardest part was using organics with two, huge, HUNGRY Golden Retrievers. I had to wash it into the surrounding soil and grass as well as I could to keep them from eating it. They still nibbled the grass, but not to the point of reducing the effects. Kim
