Reve d'Or - A Wonderful Climber

I chose this rose to grow against a boring house wall which had only one window because it was recommended by Jeri and others for my climate. It did bloom after a year or so which is pretty amazing but the flowers were rather small and beige and I was a bit disappointed. The rose has already started blooming this year, and the flowers are twice as large and have a beautiful pinkish-apricot tinge in the middle! Reve d'Or's canes are easy to train, with few thorns and many blooms. I'm thrilled with this rose! It's also a graceful grower which makes a lovely pattern against the wall. While so many climbers take three years to really do much in the way of bloom, this rose is already so satisfying now and I don't think I've had it for even two years. I'd considered replacing it with something that had a more spectacular color but this rose is now here to stay.
