Mother of Pearl or Sea Pearl?
Comments (12)Well, I am Beth, and I have all three of the above mentioned "Pearls." MOTHER OF PEARL is new for me this yr also. I actually had bought it last yr, but it never broke dormancy and died. I'm glad I re-ordered it tho. It's only bloomed once so far, and the blooms are a lovely salmony, pinky-peach. SEA PEARL is a beautiful rose. Mine is over 10 yrs old. It grows to about 5ft, bolt upright and blooms a lot for me. It's a lovely warm pink with a creamy peachy reverse and some yellow undertones. The blooms last a fairly long time and unlike Jaxondel's experience, doesn't fade that much even in 100+° temps. The clusters last quite a long time. OYSTER PEARL I have also had for over 10 yrs, and it's a bit of a stingy thing and the blooms blow fairly fast. It grows tall, sometimes to 6ft and also rather upright, not much branching. The blooms are very pretty when you catch them in the exhibition stage, which can often be only a few hours in my high heat....See MoreSealing Groutless Mother of Pearl Shell Tile
Comments (5)Hi Lisa, I am getting the same seamless tiles installed and had the same questions. Could you share what adhesive/mortar and sealant you used? Also as these are seamless, how do you prevent dirt from accumulating in the thin line of gap between each tile? Thanks much. These tiles are beautiful and I hope you are very happy with your backsplash....See MoreQuestion for those of you with a Mother-of-Pearl backsplash . . .
Comments (8)I used Mapei Frost grout, and my tiles were considered "white" in the description, though they still had some yellow and grey in them. I took a sheet to the tile place and put several colors agains it. I picked the one that blended best. The tile lady took one look and said "Frost", but I had to convince myself. I like how it came out, and plan to use the same when I gets redone in a few weeks (no date yet). And while I'm here...for SJG, a pic of the problem I have, three seams highlighted to show the break in pattern......See Moremother of pearl frame or mirror or supplier
Comments (4)Target has a 24 x 20 capiz shell one for $59 and DID have a beautiful round one that was a lot like the one at West Elm but cheaper....but now I don't see it. It was about 19". here is the West Elm laminated capiz shell one. Here is a link that might be useful: west elm mirror...See Moresherryocala
