has anyone tried?
Comments (1)Regardless of how long the $20 unit lasts, there are at least three problems with something that small. On full sun days it will be too hot. On cold nights it will be too cold. Anytime it is closed, there will not be enough air circulation. Bird (and cat) netting around your plants outside is probably a more practical solution and the same cost....See MoreHas anyone tried this for the moisture lovers?
Comments (10)That Fafard is what 'Cowboyflowerman' (Jodi) on ebay uses also, and since I really liked it in the plants he sent, I called around trying to get it, but it is mainly only sold in states other than mine, so I gave up as shipping would be ridiculous for DIRT. Ha. I get soooo mad trying to find soils without all the added fertilizers and water retainers they put in them now. Even my old standbuy "Supersoil" is now putting crap in their mix. You would think they would at least keep and offer ONE variety with nothing added. As far as pebble trays go, you can also get some of that white plastic 'grid' stuff from Home Depot and cut it into the size you need. It holds the plants up and still allows circulation underneath them wihout the mess and weight oh stones. I still leave my bellas sitting in some water in their sauser, but I wait until it has been gone a day or two before I water them again. Marcy...See MoreHas anyone tried Alton Brown's meatloaf?
Comments (65)I've never used a recipe for meatloaf and wonder if anyone else makes it ad hoc every time. I start with 2 eggs, beaten, and crumbled end pieces of bread that I've saved in the freezer. I add some milk and a large squirt of ketchup. Then I put in adobo and dried oregano, basil, and thyme (sometimes I add other herb combos). I mix that up well and then add about 2 1/2 lbs. of 80 percent lean ground beef and diced onions and green bell pepper that I've sauteed in olive oil and cooled. I salt and pepper the meat, add some extra olive oil and mix it all together. I form it into a large loaf, cover it with tomato sauce and cook it in a baking dish at 375 for about an hour or slightly more. It has a lot of liquid it it when it comes out of the oven and is juicy and delicious. Sometimes I get a better do than other times but it's always very good....See MoreHas anyone tried eating redbud seeds like lentils?
Comments (3)I would LOVE to know the answer to this. I agree with flora_UK. Nonetheless I recommend you check with a university website? If you do find out let us know..... I recently learned, though many on this site know by now that kousa dogwood berries, while not delicious are in fact edible. I felt happy to know that I accidentally bought an ornamental but got something I could eat....See Morediggery
