Is this possibly a cashew tree?

I few months back I saw this little plant growing in one of my neighbor's planters. I asked if he new what it was, he answered no and offered it to me because he didn't want it in with his other plants and considered it a weed. I thought it was beautiful. It had a tiny little twisted wooded trunk. It was reminiscent of my little Desert Rose that I was considering for a bonsai. It's bark was twisted and kind of warped looking in a similar manner, so I put it in the same pot. But now it has grown rapidly and is even more interesting looking and definitely a different type of plant entirely. It's time for it to have it's own home but I'll need to know what conditions it needs. I'm thinking it looks quite similar to a cashew tree indicating that my little squirrel friends have been busy again (I feed them my DH's cashews when I run out of peanuts). Does anyone know what this is? Thanks for any suggestions or advice :-)

By the way, this is in a 6" pot.
