You may want to check other sources. We have a very mature specimen in our local garden and it has NEVER repeated. My plant has never repeated, and yes, I am 100% certain I have the correct rose. Climbing sports of bush Hybrid Teas generally repeat very poorly, if at all; thats the nature of climbing sports. While some references state that it is "occasionally remontant", I have never met a specimen that offered more than half a dozen extra blooms in early Fall, which hardly qualifies as genuinely remontant. If you need a rose that will push out three or four glorious flushes in a year, this is not the one for you. Beautiful, yes....but unlikely to ever be a decent rebloomer. Regards, Paul

I've read it is not good for cheesecake but I don't make cheesecake anyway. I have seen recipes for cheesecake using it in Cooking Light magazine, but I dunno if the recipes are any good. Probably not good in danish and the like either. I use it mostly to spread on bagels and toast and english muffins, in which case it tastes just fine. I top it with a dab of homeade jam, yum. Great with lox, since that has a strong taste so I don't miss the extra taste for that application. Fine with those dream eggs, because they were flavored with the herbs anyway, and the neufatchel just added a wonderful creamy texture, even with 1/3 less fat. Since cream cheese is almost pure fat, 1/3 less doesn't make it a diet food by any means, but I like it just as well if not better than cream cheese for what I use it for, so that's what I buy for the calorie savings. I don't mind it in party spreads either. Thank you everyone! Jeri I love those found roses, especially De la Vina Mystery and Pulich Children--color is amazing! Wish they were cultivated for sale somewhere... Thank you for the encouragement Romogen, Boncrow and Virginia! I have been trying to be selective in the varieties I want to order. Asking questions on this forum and perusing great blogs like Hoovb's (a plus that her garden is near my zone) and other amazing blogs! BUT I do have zone envy. And being a beginner it's hard to gauge how bad all the negatives of a rose not-well-suited to my zone might be. I've never experienced rust, I have seen powdery mildew as tiny white smudges on a few leaves once this whole year, I DO know what black spot looks like on a HT that was planted by a previous owner of the house. But it only occurs on that one rose and doesn't cause defoliation. The roses I have chosen so far based on many positive reviews from this forum (Munstead Wood and Jubilee Celebration) have been great! Firefighter is just now starting to produce flowers that look as they should but the fragrance has been beautiful and last until the petals fall as Hoovb said. I think it's my inexperience that keeps me dreaming and wishing. And gosh darn it those blogs with amazingly beautiful photos of countless roses; especially some from Japan. I remember reading one of Ingrid's posts where she asked about a rose variety and after finding out it was not well-suited for her hot garden, she moved on (reminded me of a scene from Finding Nemo, when Marlin and Dory snap-out of the trance of the Anglerfish). At this point I am timid to try roses that may do poorly or eek out a few flowers annually. Though I am very very curious to try out roses on Romogen's list. I will have to ask at Roger's about Lavender Lady does well here... Thank you everyone for your guidance, advice, sharing and encouragement. It's really a wonderful experience to receive such help. Hopefully one day I can post some photos of my rose garden...and some advice from my own trials!

@Sheila z8a Rogue Valley OR I definitely enjoy my other roses. It's just that MIP has befuddled me this year. It was in a small pot for two years and did quite well and bloomed fine. Then I planted it in a larger pot last summer (in the same location, huge pot--3' tall by 2' wide) and she grew well. This summer she bloomed a LOT. The branches in my pics above (@KittyNYz6) don't show it, but they were completely covered in blooms. I just didn't get a photo because our dog died at the exact same time so I was not snapping photos. But yeah, they were covered in dozens and dozens of gorgeous blooms that then promptly fried in a heatwave in the 90s. Then it has sat for over two months with no new growth of any kind, and the darker blue gray leaves are a celery green color, so I know something isn't right. I just can't figure out what. Except that it is on a south wall of a house that is painted dark grey and just gets too much radiant heat? Not sure. In any case, I'm not losing any sleep over it, just was curious. And I know from others that MIP is not a regular re-bloomer so I wasn't even concerned about that. But I'm used to a lot of new growth by now and have had zilch. So it's intriguing. I assume it's resting, which is fine, but I've not seen a rose rest to the point where absolutely nothing is happening since its spring bloom. @Kristine LeGault 8a pnw 100% I have no issues with the shovel either haha. In my tiny garden, things have to really perform for me to put up with it. I recently got rid of Laguna (monster), Caroline Victoria (bland), and Joan Fontaine. Not everything I like does well in my garden, and sometimes I have to try it out first to see and learn, if that makes sense. :)
