Well you guys, luckily the heat has calmed down a bit for a few days. I think we're in the high 90's now. LOL I still gotta get the watering system at least halfway done tho, because our oldest son is moving down to Riverside this weekend and we have to help with the move, along with his girlfriend's parents. We'll be gone 2 1/2 days, and that's too long for the roses to go without water!! I may have to just put some oscillating sprinklers out on the timers and let 'em water all over for one day. Guess that can't hurt too much. Better than letting them dry up. The younger son may be going with us, so there won't be anybody here to water!! Yikes. Michelle and Patricia, do you really think this could be TOC? I tried to get it several times the last few yrs and it always either died or was one of those mismarked bagged bareroots that ended up being something else. Maybe one of the "other" roses ended up being TOC!! I always thought it had more pink than this tho. I guess I should check and see how much powdery mildew it gets, because I understand TOC is highly prone to it! (And I don't spray) BOBBIE DARLENE is really pretty Patricia. John's made a good point. As I pointed out, I've dealt with other companies very similar to this one and I just wouldn't do this no matter what. You think $16/lb is expensive? They are charging $10 per fruit. One pound of mangosteen is approximately/usually 4-5 fruit. That means this company is selling their mangosteens for $40-$50+ a pound! I love mangosteen and it is one of my top two-three fruit, but even I wouldn't pay that for a fruit... especially not knowing exactly what I'm getting. Nothing is worth that Andrew. Lycheeluva gets them in NY when available. If you were nice and pleaded your case, I'm sure he would send you some the next time he was able to get them... probably next spring or so. These would be guaranteed not frozen. I included this website to shock everyone with the price. Don't consider purchasing anything from there. The rest of the members here may not take a second shock!!

I wanted to let everyone know I finally received my 2 Japanese Moonstone roses from Kate Roses after filing a dispute with my credit card provider. Within a week of calling my credit card company I received a response from Kate Roses and they told me they would ship my roses within 1 week (which they did). I’m hoping I received what I ordered. After that ordeal, I decided to order 2 more Japanese roses from a Texas provider, GCM Ranch, it was a much more pleasant experience and I from the time I placed the order to when I received it, the company set the right expectations and sent my 2 roses before the time estimated at time of purchase. I ordered a Hiori “sugar” rose and an orange wedding rose. They arrived in great condition, no leaves, nicely packaged. I can’t wait to watch them grow in my zone 10A in California.
