Sweet peas in the deep south

I accidently posted this in another thread- oops! I have planted sweet peas seeds in the fall several years. They have always flowered well until May when they begin to yellow and decline in the heat. I pull them up then. THey have never reseeded here. I frequently have given nosegays of sweet peas to elderly lady friends and they always bury their noses in the blossoms and exclaim, "I haven't smelled sweet peas since I was a young girl!" Yes, they are not a "bulletproof" plant for the deep south but for the price of a couple of seed packs they provide much pleasure to all who see them. Buff
