I have had mine about 2 years. Main reason I decided on this one is its size and weight. I am a female with some back problems, so I needed something like this. I haven't had any problems with my battery charging yet, but I do know it will fade over time. I am sure to keep the battery stored in my home away from extreme temperatures so maybe that is why it has lasted so long.(I don't overcharge either) It works well for me. I use it to trim up against my home where the lawn mower can't reach. What I really like is not having to deal with oil/gas mixing and pulling a string to start. I push the button and hold the handle and it fires right up.

My 'guess' is string trimmer. I had a couple of Toro electric trimmers over the years, until I finally realized that I could cut my trimming time in half if I didn't have to mess with a cord. Both the toro's worked fine for a couple of years and then the lower bushing in the motor got worn and the shaft started wobbling and the unit vibrated badly. They put a ball bearing on the top of the motor, but a brass bushing on the bottom, where the most forces are exerted. I've found this to be common practice in most of these open frame motors, also found in shop-vacs and other such devices. Maybe someone that has had good luck with a corded trimmer will let us all know which one will hold up.

My spading fork - best thing for digging big plants with soil intact, and large clumps of any kind of plant or flower you want to thin. It spades, it cultivates (by turning it in the soil) and it turns compost. I can use it for forking manure hay and tilling in around the flowers and veggies, and without chopping up the worms and frogs when I do. I really digs out Bermuda grass and runners. Great for prying up rocks and bricks when I want to move them. Birds use it for a perch when I am not using it. (tee hee). If I was just starting out, that would be the tool I would get first. With a good sharp, sturdy shovel and my Dutch Hoe, they are the backbone of my most used tools. Then my hand tools - An old garden hoe (80+ yrs old that has long since lost it's handle that I found buried when getting pinestraw at an old house). They don't make hoes like that anymore. Awesome old hoe. The other hand tool that I don't know what to call it- it has a narrow hoe on one side and a three-tined fork on the other. ~Annie

olychick and chispa, I also am experiencing the same disappointment with my much bragged about Overland cart. It ran great the first four months, had a glitch in regards to recharging. Manual says, "recharge after each use". Well, my step brother says, "Just leave it plugged in". When it started not keeping a full charge for short times, I complained and was told by manufacturer to not keep it plugged in. Only charge for 8hrs. So I would do that if I planned on using it the next day. Other wise left it off the charger. Then there seemed to be a problem with the charger itself. They gave me a new one. Then "maybe you need a new battery". So bought one. Didn't do a whole lot of good. The business I bought it from was very sympathetic up to a point. ha When I still complained it wasn't holding a charge they really couldn't figure it out. I've had it Which your posts make me think now that I'm not alone when it comes to battery operated machines and I'm not crazy. I've had it four years now. Still a tremendous time and back saver, but I do wish it would hold a strong charge longer especially for when making multiple trips with heavy loads. Sorry also for going a bit OT but wanted to share.
