New seeded lawn - too much rain

Jean Vallee

I dutifully set aside the Labor Day weekend to redo my front and back lawn. Spent 16hrs pulling UGLY and clumped centipede grass (did not want to kill and start over) , dethached deep as possible, raked it all up - put down Scott fescue/bg mix and starter fert. Setup sprinklers so no area would get dry ever even in the parts that get full sun.

Then the torrential rainstorms came (thanks to TS Lee leftovers) and we're supposed to have more the next 3 days.

I don't have standing water except in a few spots but I do have muck 4-6" deep.

Am I sunk? Will the seed I put down rot away with all this water or is there still hope?

I really wanted to wait 3 weeks to see what bare spots I prob had then reseed but I'm pretty bummed at the moment thinking all my hard work was wasted.

Any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
