Day 50 Update

I couldn't be more pleased. Sure, there are a few holes (the southeast corner, the western face where it drops into the swale), but it looks great for the most part.

In short, thanks (major thanks) to Bestlawn and Turf_toes for a) talking me into this, and b) coddling me along on seed choices. And thanks all around for encouragement and advice.

Nobody mentioned that this grass kills its own weeds. ;-) It's rapidly crowding them out. Also, the number of earthworms is exploding and I'm seeing castings everywhere. Thousands of them. I think that's the watering and organic feeding.

Yeah, some people consider them ugly and they are. I consider them the sign of a fantastically healthy soil.

Anyway. The pictures.

The standard shot--photographed with the sun coming in from the front, so the color is more golden than it is visually. Still weedy, but filling in.

The northwest face. Visually, this is what the grass looks like at the moment:

The west face. Notice that the slope is really bad, although it's sprouting there as temperatures fall under 80.
