I'm prejudice because it's my home town but Old Wethersfield right next to Hartford is beautiful. Unfortunately one of their gems, Comstock, Ferre & Co.(one of the country's oldest seed company's - in operation since 1820) has closed. Main street usually has a scarecrow contest with many displays. If you're interested in "Washington slept here" historic houses, there are several. It may be a little far from where you are going (about 45 minutes or an hour). But if you are going by, you might want to drive through. It's the oldest (1634) established town in CT. I'm going tomorrow and will see if the scarecrows and ghost displays are lining Main Street and you can check out the town on the web. I can't think of the names of the places, but years and years ago I used to go with my Grandparents to nurseries around Bristol in the fall. There were acres of mums. Have a good time whereever you end up! The weather sounds nice and the scenery should be lovely.

antss, Thx... I laid out the CT36 burner configuration and it appears there is a 12K BTU burner directly across from a 9.2k BTU burner so it shouldn't be too hard to even things out. Am still going to look into other drop in cooktops or even a slide in rangetop. We don't need a $3K cooktop/rangetop but I also know of all the thing sin this kitchen remodel a nice gas cooktop will make my spousal unit happy and I don't want her to settle too much on this part! It's always fun to meet up with forum buds! Sort of solidifies the bond you have already made on line. Sure wish I had an excuse to come east for a few days, but am gearing up for the Round Top Antique Show then off to IL for a a 3 week visit with my best friend of 51 years. Several years ago I met up with 4 gals from a decorating forum and we went to the Rose Bowl flea market for the day. They also came down to San Diego, where we spent the day at a local swap meet as well as several antique stores. One of the gals appeared on the Christopher Lowell Show(twice)and was also featured in Romantic Homes magazine. It was 'back in the days' when home decorating shows were big and the decorating frenzy was going strong. Again, have a great time and make a toast to those of us who are there in spirit. ;o)
