Question about Jap. Beetles

Hello - I'm new to this forum but am trying to go organic and have a question about Japaneese Beetles. I live in East TN, just outside of Knoxville. The beetle population for me seems to vary from year to year. I have roses and try to keep them picked off as much as possible. Last year I planted 3 Natchez Crepe Myrtles. I'd never noticed JB's being a problem on crepe myrtles, but these are planted near my patio and this year they've had a lot of JB's and I'm pretty heartsick. I was hoping for a small tree (due to power lines) to shade the patio a bit and thought I'd made a good choice. I have other crepe myrtles but they don't seem to be bothered by JB's. So now, my question ... does having plants that the JB's love increase your population for the next year? I'm thinking it will, and if so I need to remove these crepe myrtles - but replace with what? Thanks for any info!

Frances
