Working at the museum today I had a couple from Masachusetts. They had flown to Denver and driven to Devils Tower WY, then to the Black Hills in SD. She said they had spent 5 days in the hills and in the badlands and had wanted to see the sandhills of Nebraska. They were in awe. Her remark was "Some people live in the cities, some in the mountains some in forested areas but you western Nebraskans live in the distance".

They were going to go to Omaha and fly home so I showed them another route other than the interstate where they will still find plenty of ma and pa cafes and the scenery will be much more interesting than I-80.

When I think about it perhaps we do live in the distance.
