Foliage Pro should be an adequate fertilizer on its own. Adding compost tea would only encourage other organisms to inhabit the containers: fungi and gnats immediately come to mind. Perhaps give the compost to a friend with an in-ground garden?

worm castings are not tea ... and i would not worry about over doing it with such ... just dont bury the plant .... i have hosta friends that use dry alfalfa to make a tea out of.. and it is said to work pretty good.. again.. with the dilute nature of the TEA.. i doubt you can over do it .... all that aside.... in a NORMAL year.. in MY z5 .. it is.. IMHO ... [enough qualifiers there???] it is 4 to 6 weeks too soon to add any kind of heavier fertilizers ... my last frost date is around the 3rd week of may ... we do NOT want plants in hyper growth drive... sending out too much lush green which might be caught by a frost ... so presuming it is not effective the minute it hits the ground.. give it a couple more weeks at a min in our zone ... now.. i will defer to something called compost tea .... as i have no experience with such .. have a great day in the garden ken Here is a link that might be useful: go figure i am not state of the art on tea.. lol ..

I never have done a experiment where I sprayed some plants with compost tea, and had others for comparison. I spray them all every three weeks or so, and hope for the best. I seem to have less wilt and blight than other nearby tomato growers, but that could be due to a number of factors. I use compost as mulch, space the plants further apart than anyone else, cut off affected leaves, and try to maintain max space between the ground and bottom tom leaves. No one else nearby does this. One woman bought 20 patio tom plants and put them container against container. Compost tea is one of a number of things that can improve things. But the best tomato year I ever had was when I put three bluegill in the bottom of the hole when planting. If you want great tasting toms in October, the best advice I could give is to plant some cherry tomatoes. The big fruit toms don't taste like much in the fall.

If your composter is dripping a liquid the material in it is too wet to properly anerobic compost. There should never be any liquid runoff from a properly constructed compost pile, even one in one of those really expensive and unnecessary commercial things. Slugs and snails are part of Ma Natures recycling machine but they do not distinguish between living plants and dead plant materials and so are considered pests. About all they will do in your composter, besides digesting some of that material, is mate and lay eggs to spread around your garden because as wet as your compost is it is a very good envinment for them.
