using neem in a hot climate?

hi everyone,

do any of you have experience using neem oil in a really hot climate? i'm in northern california...the sacramento valley, and we're just getting some heat. although it's "cool" for us right now, (about 85 degrees) we average over 90 degree days consistently and have more than our share of over 100 degree days.

one of the more knowledgable people down at my local nursery told me that i can't use neem because it will fry my plants in our climate. i don't want to believe this! neem seems to be such a wonderful product and i have pests! i also have beneficials that i want to keep!

so i'm wondering if any of you have experience using neem in hot climates? specifically, i'd like to use it on my tomatoes and zucchini...but my roses could use a dose as well.

thanks very much,

~a
