You might want to get a soil test before dumping more stuff into it.

It sounds like a pH or nutrient limiting/over-use issue...or over-watering (which you seem to be doing unless you live in the desert).

Do you have slime at the bottom of your bed? What is under the topsoil? A clay hardpan and all that organic material could make a slime cake in a hurry.
Dig around in there as deep and you can and see what is going on with your composite. You may discover root rot or insect-festation. :)

My garden bed is 1ft deep. When I dig to the bottom there is no slime. Also the roots to my plants don't go that deep.

Roots don't adapt well to layered soils. You'd be better off if you had mixed everything with the top soil.

See that's the thing the roots has not reached the second layer.

What are you trying to grow? Which plants are doing well? Which plants are not? Are you growing from seed? or transplants?

Red Lettuce and roman lettuce are doing very good they where transplants. Tomatoes ,peppers, squash, and onions are transplants they are not doing good. Corn, watermelon are seeds and they are not doing good. Watermelon has not sprouted yet and it's been 2 weeks.

Alla the plants you list as not doing well need consistently warm temps, 55F & above for both day & night.

I live in savannah Ga. The temps at 80-85 during the day and about 65 at night.

Your soil is the most important part of your garden so you need to take a good look at what you have. Contact your local office of your University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service about having a good, reliable soil test done for soil pH and major nutrient levels and then dig in with these simple soil tests to learn more about what you made.
1) Soil test for organic matter. From that soil sample put enough of the rest to make a 4 inch level in a clear 1 quart jar, with a tight fitting lid. Fill that jar with water and replace the lid, tightly. Shake the jar vigorously and then let it stand for 24 hours. Your soil will settle out according to soil particle size and weight. For example, a good loam will have about 1-3/4 inch (about 45%) of sand on the bottom. about 1 inch (about 25%) of silt next, about 1 inch (25%) of clay above that, and about 1/4 inch (about 5%) of organic matter on the top.

2) Drainage. Dig a hole 1 foot square and 1 foot deep and fill that with water. After that water drains away refill the hole with more water and time how long it takes that to drain away. Anything less than 2 hours and your soil drainsâ too quickly and needs more organic matter to slow that drainage down. Anything over 6 hours and the soil drains too slowly and needs lots of organic matter to speed it up.

3) Tilth. Take a handful of your slightly damp soil and squeeze it tightly. When the pressure is released the soil should hold together in that clump, but when poked with a finger that clump should fall apart.

4) Smell. What does your soil smell like? A pleasant, rich earthy odor? Putrid, offensive, repugnant odor? The more organic matter in your soil the more active the soil bacteria will be and the nicer your soil will smell.

5) Life. How many earthworms per shovel full were there? 5 or more indicates a pretty healthy soil. Fewer than 5, according to the Natural Resources Conservation Service, indicates a soil that is not healthy.

"Topsoil" is a pretty meaningless description of soil since the only definition I have seen about "topsoil" is that it is the top 4 to 6 inches of soil from someplace. Other then the compost the rest of what you added to that soil probably does little or nothing to help make a good, healthy soil.

I did all the test. Test 1 and 2 are in process now. I will take pictures and post again once they are done.
Tilth, the soil hold together and fell apart when poked.

Smell. My soil has somewhat of and mild earthy odor, you really have to smell hard to smell it.

There are no earth worms what so ever

If that raised bed is relatively new the earthworms may not have had time to move in yet, or maybe you don't have any nearby.

I agree with rhizo. I would have incorporated all that stuff with 6 inches of top soil and then had 18 inches of homogenized soil.

I suspect that some people hesitate to mix with the topsoil because of weed seed or grass.

Also I'm noticing the tomatoes and the squash where the leaves are touching the dirt and the lower leaves are dying and turning yellow.

If your lower leaves are yellowing it means they need fertilizer. Tomatoes need a low nitrogen fertilizer, which is the first number on the label. I was told they want a 1-2-2 ratio. Impossible to find here in any store. That means a fertilizer with a 2-4-4 or maybe a 4-8-8 ratio of nutrients. I can't find anything close to that. I finally bought Tomato-tone by Espoma. It is organic and has been on the market for umpteen years. I sold their products back in the early 80's. We couldn't keep them in stock. I worked in that garden center for 4 years and we always so an intense amount of that fertilizer, so I decided to use it this year.

Hey Kimmsr, about the worms, i was doing some research and came across a this site www.bestbuyworms.com do you think it would help me any if i just buy about 5lbs of worms and put them in my garden? Do you think they will survive? Do I have to worry about feeding them?

I have yet to see a good reason for anyone to spend money on worms since most of them are composting worms and not those that can live long term in your soil. Provide the right conditions in your soil, ie. adequate levels of organic matter, and the earthworms will move in and increase without your needing to buy some that most likely are not what you need anyway

I don't think your garden is deep enough. Plants need the same amount of room for depth below the ground as they need for room above the ground.

My garden is 1 foot deep above the ground. There is nothing stoping the roots to grow deeper pass the bottom of the garden.

Looks like your pH is way too high as well as a lot of other things. Try adding dolomite lime(which will also help with your low magnesium levels) and stop adding a ton of stuff to your soil without knowing what it needs. Let the lime hang out for a while and then test just the pH, they have at-home test kits for stuff like that which are pretty foolproof.

If the pH is already too high , how would more lime help? High OM in the soil should actually buffer pH anyways. Sorry I can't read the tiny pix of the soil test.

So add more organic matter and nitrogen? What about using some milorganite for the nitrogen and this product for more organic matter http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/item/happy-frog-soil-conditioner.html ?

Is your soil stay too wet too long?

No. Not really

I'm no expert at analysing soil tests but I don't see anything out of whack. It's not surprising that most of your nutrients are above the optimal range, but even that is just by a small margin.

My next thought would be perhaps you've created a muck-type texture in your beds. Maybe some sand stirred into your organic soup may help. :)
