I need proof!

I'll swear, I wish the hopeful and cheerful la-la Birkenstockian "companion planting guides" held water, but I am extremely skeptical. Now I don't get agitated if the claims don't impact problems in my garden, but when the claims DO profess to cure a garden ill that my garden has, I get really pissed when they don't actually do it.

So far I've seen these claims and really wish they were true. This one isn't as the researcher discovered. But anyway, here are the claims I'm interested in:
White radishes repel cucumber beetles.

White radishes repel cowpea curculio.

Cosmos repel Mexican bean beetles.

Geraniums repel cucumber beetles & squash bugs.

Before I accept or reject any of these declarations, I'd like to know if you've found any anecdotal or scientific information that would legitimately validate or invalidate these claims, including your own observations.
