Unknown blue/white flowering bulb

Received these bulbs years ago as freebies included with a catalog plant order. Didn't expect them to naturalize in north Texas, so didn't bother to keep what little info was provided. The plants come up late fall and bloom in March. Any ideas on what they are?

They also look like lycoris, common name spider lily. These do come in white but are rarer than the red ones. If that's what you have, I'd love to trade you for some. Here is a link that might be useful: White lycoris

It's not Glory of the Snow. I have a lot of Chionodoxa. Mine is not up yet. All the Chionodoxa I have and seen has a white center. Also, this new plant has very prominent stamens that spray out. Thanks for thinking of me, Sue! My lilies have not emerged yet.

Thanks for the answers. I got seeds with no name of this rose from a garden society, The seeds were from northern Italy. I grow the rose in the east of Austria. The climate is zone 5, Vine is growing here. In most of the winters branches are frozen. The rose looks tender, therefore I do not think that it is a rugosa. The biggest flowers are 4 cm in diameter. The flower has a little fragrant, It is a once year bloomer. I know Pimpinellifolia quite well. My unknown rose has too differernt thorns and leaves. height might be definite in ID.. a scale might have helped.. or just tell us ...

It is not swamp or LA iris which has foliage present all year long from my experience and grows from rhizomes.

This is a bulbous iris. I agree with Saltcedar. Scroll down half way.

Iris xiphium, which is the Spanish iris this group is named for, is common in southwest France, Corsica, Southern Italy, Portugal, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Gibraltar and Spain. It has handsome blue and yellow flowers and has been used as one of the parents in the many hybrids known as Dutch Iris. There are four varieties. This iris is quite popular in flower arrangements. I want to change my vote to Spanish because I went out to look at the Dutch Iris here, and they are way to short. The Spanish ones are not blooming yet, and they have those bumps on the stem. Why I would doubt Saltcedar before checking is beyond me. And now to be on the wrong side of carol23 is completely fool hardy.

That's interesting about the Louisiana Iris not going dormant. I bought my first this year and am in to cold a climate to worry about summer dormancy- but according to the LSU ag center- this plant is summer dormant- thus the time to move it.
Also- the below document discusses the foliage become brown and Yellow in June. ?

I didn't realize any Iris came from a bulb though! I assume when someone says bulb and they are talking about iris, they are just using bulb in place of rhizome.

Thanks folks - believe you've nailed it. It's certainly some type of Spanish/Dutch hybrid iris, if not Iris xiphium which does seem the most likely. Close enough to track down the basic "care and feeding" info before moving them.

They are about 18" tall, to answer Ken's question. Seems a lot more obvious they're some kind of iris now that you've pointed it out... but had no idea. Will post to the iris forum or local society for any other questions.
