What bulb is this small blue flower?

It’s not scilla, or at least not the usual one.
Leaves look similar, but the flowers are in a cone like cluster, rather than
singly or in pairs as I have seen before. It’s a really early bloomer. My
regular scilla have not bloomed yet. Thanks!

The description of this blue flower was so intriguing that I kept checking back to see if anyone ID'd it so was glad to see David's answer. . A photo of Blue Waterleaf/Hydrolea ovata is on the Wildflower Center website. I can see a family resemblance to the native waterleaf I grew in Illinois (Hydrophyllum virginianum), but no spines grew out of that flower! It's not Glory of the Snow. I have a lot of Chionodoxa. Mine is not up yet. All the Chionodoxa
I have and seen has a white center. Also, this new plant has very prominent
stamens that spray out.

Thanks for thinking of me, Sue! My lilies have not emerged yet.

I think it IS Scilla bifolia. Thanks! The images I saw of
that do have the stamens like I described. I will have to see if I can find
this to buy next fall. It’s so early, it would be great to have that shot of
blue in early April.
