I have 2013 bearclaw helleborus seeds. If you want to look over my list and see if i have anything else you might like. I have a few native seeds that might make it in zone 5. Do you have have natives from your area? If not maybe you can just send me a SASBE. I am really interested in plant seeds not vegs.

Hmm, so I guess it was down to Baccharis neglecta, salicifolia, salicina, or halimifolia. But, the leaves of Baccharis salicina look too wide. Baccharis pilularis (top), salicina (middle), salicifolia (bottom) So, this led most likely to Baccharis salicifolia. Just refreshing this debate because I found another similar specimen today with very narrow leaves (almost like Rosemary):

It's the Double Bridal Wreath Spiraea! It is different than simply Bridal Wreath Spiraea in that the flowers have more petals. And interestingly, one site even mentioned, "Is not native, but has been used since pre-civil war times around houses in the south. A poor spirea that has a good name. Needs to be kept pruned to look good." This gives me an idea both how old the remains of the house might be that it is next to, and also how to try and get it blooming and healthy again! Well, better safe than sorry. I'll hold on to that cage for a while. I've been surprised too many times already, LOL. When we first moved out here (2001) I planted several lantana horrida and they ate some and left others alone. I'm just on 1/4 acre so I have no idea why they preferred some over the others. They kept them sheared down quite a bit but never ate them to the ground. We have some odd deer out here. The birds have planted a pink and yellow one that Jolana calls ham and eggs. They haven't touched that yet. I see some orange varieties growing around that they leave alone as well. AND this year a few neighbors have a low growing yellow variety (assuming it's just the standard one you can buy everywhere) that are all doing fantastic. They look great with the mealy cup sages that are all blooming right now. Have to get me some of that one.
