Comments (8)You have two of the bushes I have growing wild in my yard. I also agree with the IDs. Some of the few I know. The privets are used in cold climates as a decorative bush. They do not usually spread because they are not grown to flower but cut in ball shapes or used as hedges. The Mock Orange spreads also but slow and it is easy to pull out when you see them. If you want to shape it up to make it prettier I shape mine as soon as it finishes blooming. If you cut it too late you will not get the blooms the following Spring. It should be extremely fragrant. Comments (3)I recently planted a group of 'Bombshell' hydrangeas that I purchased in the fall and wintered over in pots. They are really taking off....tons of branching. These hydrangeas are supposed to reach only 36" with white panicle flowers. I can't personally comment on their flowering, but am hopeful for a nice display later in the season. I've seen lots of nice pics of it on the internet, but have also heard mixed results on this board regarding this hydrangea. Time will tell. Comments (11)I thought maybe New Jersey Tea, because mine is blooming now, and I sensed a similarity. There was no clear close up of the flower structure, so hence the different i.d.s .
