Looking for Adapter plate to Mount Tecumshey Engine on Lawnboy

Does anyone build an adapter plate to mount a tecumshey engine on an old Lawnboy deck. I thought this will make a great lawnmower with a newer engine with all the safety stuff and a great light deck.

It's easy enough to fab up an adaptor plate at home. The problem is getting the blade height correct.

I am playing around right now with a 20 hp Briggs V-twin mounted on an older alum. LawnBoy deck. Same problem though, blade height plus I have a keyed shaft issue.

If you can get the blade height right it should work fine.

Fortunately, they made several models with the Tecumseh on a staggered-wheel deck. You'll need that engine model number to have an easy fit.

I may have some time, Can you guys recommened a 4 cycle engine, I already have a buyer for the Lawnboy if it has a 4-cycle. I was thinking on mounting a 5-hp honda engine I can buy those for $179 Canadian$$. I like restoring and re-powering mowers with newer engines. I will post a picture of the Hasgvaran I just completed it has a the Aluminium deck and a nice B&S engine.

I finally viewed the piston via the open exhaust ports and found much play and side to side movement of the piston within the cylinder. I don't recall seeing this in any of my other working Lawn-Boys, so I suspect severe damage to either the cylinder sleeve/liner or the piston. I replaced engine shaft seals and I swapped the carburetor and ignition pack and spark plug with known good replacements and still experiencing the same problem...Engine starts only when completely cold for 5 seconds and dies. Attempts to restart leave wet/raw gas on the spark plug. Spark checks out OK, so I suspect the side to side play of the piston as the cause of problem. I also checked the braking mechanism and on/off contacts and it is working normally. Please advise if any of you folks have experienced this problem and if it may be due to the piston with much side to side movement within the cylinder. Thanks for your help.

LB themselves made one for the ill fated staggered alum. decked Briggs and Straton commercial combo. I have one (brand new). I was going the same direction as you until I learned the ways of a 2 cycle (waves hand slowly). If you can find the model number of that mower you can track the part down, I have since lost it. Also, try searching for small engine warehouse on your engine of choice and look of the Techumsh that was put on the 10272 or the like models.

Lawnboy Duraforce for F engine?

OK, I have given up on the idea of replacing my "F" engine with a Duraforce. I wanted to mounted the Duraforce to the aluminum deck plate to use the bottom muffler. The Duraforce has a round exhaust with two holes that are closeer together than the usual rectangular exhaust. In addition the round exhaust extends beyond the rectangular plate. Just no easy way to make this work. Guess I'm looking for a rod assy and bottom crankcase now to fix my "F" engine

A 20 horsepower on a Lawnboy deck?
That should cut up a bunch of grass.

Yeah well, I haven't seen it done yet and have an Intek setting on the bench with no home right now. There is a nice engineless Lawn Boy staggered deck in the yard just begging to disturb the neighborhood.

The blade may be a later engineering problem. Why let that slow down the project, right?

Lawnboy made an adaptor for a briggs engine (I have the adaptor in my garage, unused) and put a tech. engine on steel LB's. You could use the briggs adaptor to mount a briggs and maybe the tech. If you redrilled the holes. You can get anything to fit with enough tools and ambition.
