Two questions about iron

I bought some green light iron sulphate hoping to green up my grass without pushing too much growth- already used organic fertilizer for the summer. I didn't think about the iron being basically a powder- how hard will it be to spread it with a rotary spreader? Will it be impossible even with the hopper almost closed? I can't find granular iron around here.

Then, will it burn if it doesn't get watered in for about 8 hours in the heat? I know liquid iron is not good in the heat but does it need to be watered in right away? The sprinklers are set to come on in the early morning hours- I could spread it just before dark. Thanks
