Could be fungus, i had the same because of all the rain this summer. Mine managed to disappear once the sun came out and dried it out.

Squish 'em! And/or give 'em a good dose of garlic spray. Put plenty of chillies in. GARLIC SPRAY: Soak 1/2 cup crushed garlic cloves in 1/2 cup vegetable oil for one week. Add a little liquid soap and dilute the mixture - 1 part mixture to 10 parts water. Garlic spay will kill and repel aphids, woolly aphids, bean fly, stink bugs, crickets, grasshoppers, red spider mite, sawfly larvae, scale, snails, slugs, thrips and caterpillars, mosquitoes and ticks, the adult moths of leaf-miners and mealy bugs. It is an effective fungicide when used 3-4 times a week against potato blight and damping off. OR Crush 100g garlic, 2 chillies and 2 onions and cover with water for 24 hours. Strain and add enough water to make up 2 litres.

MM Thanks for responding. The damage on the picture you linked to does look like the one I posted, sort of "end stage" but it actually starts out with tiny brown spots which is whats going on now. Yesterday I saw some tiny red bugs, which seem to be the juvenile version of the one I see later.

How big is it? If very small -- as in 1/8 inch, may be a whitefly but, ti=o tell the truth, doesn't look right. Then, again, it sort of resembles a lacebug -- but again would have to be very small. Bottom line -- what is it doing? Could just be resting there while on it's way to somewhere else. Further, if only one or a few, flick into soapy water.
