dying zoysia==taller sprinkler heads or mow down 1' brown thatch
Comments (3)If 4" is a higher popup that means you probably have 2" popups. I don't know about where you are but 2" heads aren't ever used on lawns around here. It's just not tall enough for 2" or higher grass. There is virtually no difference in price between 2" and 4" hunter bodies. Any idea why 2" was used? You're only talking about $75 bucks for replacement bodies but depending on how much irrigation installers charge in your area, you could be looking at a bill of around $1,000 or more and that's just for replacing the heads. It could need more than that. I think your best bet is to do as bpgreen recommends and lower your deck but if the system was put in recently and the installer saw you mowed your lawn at 2" then you might want to contact them and see if you could work something out....See Morezoysia sod dying
Comments (2)you might be right, but these are pretty tall oaks that don't spread out until pretty high up, just watching it throughout the day, I thought it got more than average sun during the day. I was more inclined to think it didn't have enough water, or maybe those particular pieces of sod weren't as strong as the rest, especially since they were never green, so what would you suggest to replant those spots. another type grass?...See MoreGrass dying in some spots. Comments (13)Botanicalbill I'm down here in Miami near Kendall. I do have dominion as I used it for white flies at my old house. Dcall-San-Antonio been a while seen we chatted. You helped me immensely with the St Augustine at my old house. The was the lawn of the block fertilizing with soybean meal. Why did I change? Excellent question. I've always love Bermuda grass. At the new house since I had to lay down new turf, in researching several nurseries told me to go with Empire zoysia instead of Bermuda and St. Augustine. Hopefully I do not regret the investment. I did spread 1 ton of 50/50 soil before laying the grass. As for drainage what I did was make three drains into the ground 5 ft deep to assist. This is a new home and the developer used crappy fill from what it seems as drainage is bad. i plan on continuing with soybean for fertilizer. Hopefully Zoysia likes it......See Morezhao
