Bestlawn.....I have a rye/fescue/kbg lawn. I have done a nice job amending the soil and bringing out the green in my lawn over the past year. The only thing that I am not overly happy with is the spreading of the grass, as I find that it truly never forms that thick mat of grass that I believe the KBG and southern lawns get. It looks great from a far, but can be clumpy up close. The issue is that any bare spot - no matter how small - invites weeds.

Is my belief that kbg would cure this problem valid? Have you seen many mixed lawns like mine that come in as thick as a kbg lawn? My neighbor has the same lawn as me, has been taking care of it longer, and seems to have near 100% coverage, but then again, she is out there patching all spring and summer. As soon as a spot dies or a divot is taken out of it, she is out there patching.
