Model 69893 is the newer version of the Harbor Freight 10x12 kit. Model 93358 is the older version of the Harbor Freight 10x12 kit (I have this one.) There have been some small changes to some of the parts (doors, floor plates, ceiling plates) and the shape of some of the back panels have changed. I'm not really sure what spurred these changes, and I honestly don't know why one would be any better than the other. That said, I guess I'd probably choose the newer model, only because it seems logical that HF might discontinue replacement parts for the older kit, before they discontinue parts for the newer version. The manuals are a bit different for the two versions. If you get your kit and some of the parts don't seem to match what's shown in the manual, you can download the correct one from the HF website. (I've had a few emails from folks with confusion resulting from having the wrong manual.)

Sorry I'm so late getting back to you. I think that oddly sized fixtures can be off-putting. Many home buyers are looking for an "ideal" and they can't see past that. If the tub is well made and the bath is located where it's most needed a shorter size tub might not be a problem. If the bath will be used by children then its size is less important, but children grow into teenagers. acm voiced a concern I had about the location of this bath to nearby bedrooms. My mistake in calling it water-resistant drywall. It looks like drywall but it's better referred to as tile backer board. It's most often 1/2 inch thick but I have seen a Hardie brand backer that was only 1/4" thick and came in 3 x 5 ft. sections. HERE is a link to more info on these. There are several types with differing properties. On toilet location, I don't think "obstruction refers to the nearest wall or fixture. I think it refers to something directly in front of the toilet. Looking at your floor plan an angled toilet would not have anything in front of it. There might be room between the toilet and the vanity for a waste basket.

Hi, Jason, For the benefit of educating others who might be reading this thread. There is a distinct difference between repairs and direct replacements (which don't generally require permits) and remodeling or new construction (which generally do.) If you read carefully the regulations you've posted, you'll note that they emphasize repair or replacement of existing stuff. Your description of the scope of electrical work you performed is not low voltage and goes beyond repair and replacement: " We looked into getting a licensed electrician, but it was going to be a week before he could get there. So I wired a couple of overhead lights and ran a couple of outlets for the bathroom and the refrigerator enclosure, wired the overhead light and provided an in-cabinet outlet. Outside the bathroom, I installed an in-cabinet outlet for the fridge, the beverage cooler, and two kick-plate outlets for the bar." Your description of the plumbing work you performed also goes beyond repair and replacement: "So I installed a cold water shutoff and extended the line from the shower to the rest of the unit providing a hot water shutoff at the same time. While I was at it ran a line for the toilet and the icemaker. Before the project is finished, I will have moved the bathroom sink, ran new lines, ... installed a new drain for the bathroom sink, ...." Plumbing and electrical codes are written to protect public health and safety. Permits and inspections are intended to ensure that any new work or modifications comply with the applicable codes and provides the intended protection in the codes. I'm pretty sure you've done work that required permits, and which required licensed tradesmen to do it. But, I could be wrong. In the interest of safety, why not phone up the local building official, invite him/her out to the jobsite and have them confirm that no permits are required? As to your ability to charge a fee for remodeling work, you haven't indicated whether you are a licensed contractor in your state. If contracting is a regulated profession in your state, I'd bet it is illegal for you to advertise, perform or charge others for any contracting work.

OutsidePlaying, I came here to post a question about that very subject. I was never in 4-H, but I know that many children benefit from being part of their organization. It's fair time here and the kids will be showing the animals they have raised and then selling them at auction. As I do every year, I find myself wondering how difficult it must be to raise those animals from babies only to sell them for slaughter at the auction that will be held after judging is over. My question was in regard to how traumatized are the kids when they have to sell their animals or is it considered part of farm/ranch life and something every future farmer/rancher has to learn to cope with? I know that I personally couldn't do it but I also realize it's necessary for those who supply our food. My mom raised and showed beef calves when she was a young teen and the local grocery store bought her steers more than once. I remember her saying that she wouldn't eat beef for months after because she didn't want to accidentally eat one of the steers she had raised. Looking back, that probably wasn't a possibility since my grandparents raised their own beef, but she was that worried about it.
