Why is my Ficus dropping leaves?

saromat

I moved my seven-year-old ficus indoors about a month ago. I put it in the exact spot (in front of a south-west facing window) where I've put it every year. I've never had a problem; it has always done beautifully there. This time, however, almost from the moment I brought it in, leaves have been turning yellow and dropping by the dozens. I try to bring it in during the same temperature range each year, but maybe it spent an extra night or two outside, in cool September air, than it ususally does. I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to stop the dropping leaves, and, since it's thining, should I prune it way back in order to stimulate growth? Thanks!
