Help me finish designing bathroom
Comments (13)I just redid my master bath and I have a 72" vanity as well. In my old bathroom I had two 3-light vanity lights on each side. I got ample lighting from this. My new bathroom features a tile BS so I went with two mirrors to help show off the tile. Unfortunately I realized the two previous wall lights were not centered with the new vanity set up so we just did two cans lights instead. The lighting isn't as good as before. I put makeup on in the morning so I need the light to ensure I don't leave the house looking like a clown :) I love the new set up and I feel like the can lights look more modern. I'm happy but the old lighting was brighter. Can you do can lights and sconces? I think your thoughts on a darker floor will look great. I went with a charcoal color tile and dark grout - it almost looks seamless and I love it. I also love the little hexagon tiles. Go with what feels right. before and after... Notice the old lighting - it was very bright....See MoreWhat to do with LARGE blank walls?
Comments (4)This is all furniture from a previous home. Only the dining table is staying in here - just haven’t ordered anything new yet. We were starting on our everyday family room but the couch we ordered is on such a long delay we decided to work on this room while we are waiting for that to come in. We have already replaced the light (picture of new light below) and are painting now. Open to any shared formal dining and living room furniture combinations that work well and ideas on what to put on the walls. Thank you!...See MoreMaster bath: One sink or two? One large wall mirror or two mirrors?
Comments (19)I recently remodeled and changed the double sinks for one sink plus a nice area where I can sit down for my ablutions. I wanted the increased counter space as well as the increased storage space. I don't spend that much time over a sink anyway so I don't see what the big deal is to have one sink. I especially think it is ridiculous when I see two sinks crammed into a small vanity with a tiny bit of counter space - so big deal you have a dysfunctional bathroom space but you have two sinks. I remodeled for my needs and my aesthetic vision. I am not planning to move and if someone doesn't like it, they can fairly easily just reconnect the plumbing and add the second sink. In terms of mirror treatment, I did a ceiling to counter wall to wall mirror but then put two different mirror treatments above the sink and the "grooming area". The wall to wall mirrors lightens and enlarges my rather small space and the two different mirror treatments differentiate it as well. I also have two Art Deco style sconces above the sink and a version a makeup lighting above the grooming sit down area....See MoreLarge Wall - what to do?
Comments (11)I would think very carefully before putting a mirror over your buffet. What will it reflect? From your photos, it looks like the mirror will be opposite the doorway into a porch. What is on the wall of that porch directly opposite the wall over the buffet, and do you think that is something worth reflecting?...See Moretoomuchglass
