That is too perfect!! Love the flower choice too!! I've been eyeballing the same BBQ at my niebors, thought it would make a good planting bowl for a homemade planting centre I've in mind. Now I have something else for that idea, but just love it planted up like that!

oooooo! I love it! I think you need to grab some BBQ essentials (tongs, flippers, etc) and either nail those puppies to the tree, or make a windchime out of them!!! Too cute! Very nice job indeed!

That's what I did with a grill that was my Moms and she wanted to get rid of it. She was so happy I took it off her hands. It only lasted about a year because the bottom rusted out of it. She has a cast iron one that I need to take from her and do one up again. If you notice in my photo I took the grid off and mounted it as a back drop with the post that origianlly adjusted the height.... Celosia just has that flame appearance, doesn't it!

That turned out real nice Jacque. I like the idea of using the BBQ grill utensils either to hang off one of the handles, in the tree, or to make a windchime out of them. The cover on the ground with the plants growing out of it is just beautiful, I really like that.

By all means mine was NOT welded (I'd love to learn though). The bar that adjusted the height I had in the soil as well as the grid itself. I think part of it was resting on the side of the house.

Thanks everyone...I'm so glad you all like it. I was really proud of myself with this..lol...thought it turned out really cute...and it will look even cuter once all the flowers come in. My husband was going to through this out during Spring Clean Up last month and I DEMANDED that he let me have it..LOL. Oh, and guess what!!!! Our other charcoal grill fell apart and he said to me..Here, use it as another planter somewhere...LOL!! WOO-HOO!!!

Anyway...I loved seeing everyone elses grill ideas and think it's sooooo funny we all thought of using the Celosia....well like they say..great minds think alike..LOL.

Below are just a few pics of my front yard and then the back of the house. Just to show why it's in the front yard and not the back..lol.

I'm standing on my front porch steps here.See my grill planter? Looks cute huh...LOL. And that bench was the old bench on the deck outback. This area still needs work. That is this coming weeks project. Off in the distance is my son's trampoline and that feeder next to the Y tree is for the deer. We get at least a dozen every morning and every evening. Another reason why there isn't alot of flowers around here..lol.

I just love your place! I was thinking it was Oregon and then I saw that you are in PA! Looks like you get regular rain. Here int eh desert everthing has to be ona drip system or everything wouldbe brown! Thansk for sharing. I know there are a few deer resistant plants/flowers out there....

Yup I'm in PA. Poconos...very wooded area. Lots of bugs and critters..LOL. It's ok..I don't mind the critters (much..lol) but the bugs I really could do without right now...the GypsyMoth Caterpillars are really bad this year. Oh I can't stand to walk outside and see them hanging off the house, the deck, the trees, on and IN my car and truck..YUCK!!! Don't think the township sprayed this year.

And oh yes..I learned quick last year that I had to find "deer resistant" flowers for this year. Everything I planted last year...the deer ate! LOL I'm usually ok with anything if it's up close to the house..but anything out in the yard..it's fair game! LOL

What a pretty place you have, I was think Oregon too.
To continue with your BBQ theme how about adding an old ice chest. Love the wind chime sugestion. the choice of flowers was so clever, didn't dawn on me until i read through the replies. duh

WOW..an Ice chest...what a neat idea. I'll have to see if I can find one...I have an old igloo cooler that I can use..LOL...if worse comes to worse I'll use that...would still be neat with the grill theme..LOL
