'plant nanny' and automatic watering review

The local nursery had "plant nanny" waterers and I decided to try them since they were cheaper than at Charley's Greenhouse. They have a big glass globe attached to a hollow terra-cotta spike. I don't know if I like them. I'll give them a chance to adjust, but the water in the glass globe empties in a day or two. That's not going to help a whole lot with "automatic watering." I've used the plant spikes that have a tube that attach to a water source. They worked well, but just kind of quit working after a few years, like the terra-cotta got tired. I also tried the Plantastic bottle and that was the worst. The bottle of water never seemed to empty, even though the soil was dry.

I think the "drip it" is the only spike type waterer I haven't tried. Anyone try that one? Or another one I haven't mentioned?
