rachel77 - yes I've never had much luck with getting another season out of bulbs planted in containers. Usually the flowers are much smaller and fewer in number next year even if I've treated them with the best care. I agree with Patwood to get new ones. For future reference if you plant daffodils in the ground these will spread and continue to flower year after year. You do have to keep the foliage on the plants until it completely browns so the daffodils can build up energy for next years blossums. Then add a little bulb fertilizer. As an added bonus the deer don't usually eat them and squirrels/chipmunks don't dig them up. They are great for naturalizing areas where you can keep the foliage on until it browns.

Lou, i'll chime in my 2 sense worth. One time i was rooting a italian type that a friend brought from italy we each had one, his died so i gathered some wood from mine following year and used the baggie method like always in our warm laundry room. The 3 sticks rooted well and they were cupped. But i did something different and put them up high on wire rack above the washmachine near the ceiling they had small leaves good roots as i could see them in the cup, one by one the leaves started to curl and i looked at the roots and they were turning darker each passing day, one cup i took out and put in another room the other 2 cups stood in same place in laundry room. The ones in laundry room died as the cups were to warm and the roots did get dark brown when this happened, the 1 i took out made it fine . I learned by that mistake. So what Steve says is true and good advice in my opinon as to much warmth can be bad with young developing roots. I should have realized that high up near the cieling heat rises and warmed those cups to much along with the root system.Ive never used a heat mat but in my area they use it indoors to start seeds in trays for vegtables to sprout more quickly to get a jump start on the season here when they take the heat mat away im not sure but im now guessing its earlier than later and only used to germinate the seeds as i do know that vegtable seeds do not sprout here outdoors if the soil is not a certain minimum teperature. Some amaryllis multiply every year and soon make a nice clump. Others, especially the ones that you want to multipy, seem to NEVER do a thing!!! In zone 7, I think the colder winters will slow them down. You could even lose some to freezing.

I only found one Sound Card listed for a Dell 2300 - Windows XP. At this address using Firefow - Windows Live - Live Search. I don't seem to have much luck with Googles. Windows XP See if your sound has been stopped in Services Under Windows Audio. Start - Control Panel - Open Administrative Tools - Open Component Services - Click Services (Local) and Scrowl down the list to Windows Audio to see if it says - Started. If stopped Left click Windows Audio and click restart. - Or Right click Windows Audio - left click Properties - Left click Start If you still don't have any sound. If the above doesn't work, go to control panel and open System Icon - Hardware Tab - Device Manager - Click the + Plus sign for Sounds.......... - Right click Realtek AC 97 (Or whatever Sound you have) - Left click - Update Driver. To update you will need the CD that came with your computer. If the above doesn't work try downloading the latest Windows media player which includes the latest direct X and audio codecs. This fix is for cracking and popping sound.
