Aspidistra (cast iron plant) question.
Comments (2)Despite what you've written, I suspect it may be a light issue. Aspidistras do better in low light than most other plants, but there are limits. If the light is too low, it may maintain itself for quite some time, but it won't grow. This is after all, a plant used in outdoor landscapes, where shade is equivalent to a sunny spot in our homes. In the area where you keep your plant, can you read a newspaper (or other smallish print) without turning on a light for most of the day? If the area is too dim to read in, it is probably too dim for your plant to put out new growth. Move it to a somewhat brighter spot, without direct sun....See MoreWhere to buy Cast Iron Drop-In bathtubs ?
Comments (6)I bought a Kohler cast iron undermount sink from a large on-line e-tailer. I think it weighed 150 lbs. It was shipped on a pallet that the shipper for whatever reason decided to stand on end. That or some other shipping incident chipped and cracked the finish in three places. I was really pissed as you can imagine. The color was a special order. So I called the e-tailer and they were VERY professional. I send some pictures and they ordered a new sink for me. That one arrived without damage. They did not want the old sink back. It sat on our floor for months. They must have gotten the shipper to pay for it, or insurance, or just ate the costs. But to ship something like that back is a waste of money. It can't be used anyway or repaired like new. It is a write off. I had a hard time getting rid of it. But it taught me where I will ALWAYS buy my on-line bath/kitchen stuff. Not sure if I can mention the name but it ends in 'direct.'...See MoreI need cuttings of Devils Ivy's and Variegated Cast Iron Plant

Comments (9)Thank you so much mari_t232 for your kind offer to go hunting for some cuttings (lol) for me. A neighbor just last week gave me his big old pot of arrowheads, they were in bad shape you know all leggy and scraggly and mostly dried out. After I cleaned it up, I asked him would he like the old plant back and I'll just keep some of the cuttings he said no way he didn't like the way it grew and for me to keep it. So I have been enjoying watching my new plant grow. Russ1023 sent me a variety of Pothos and Philodendron cuttings and they are all doing beautifully. Your living in Florida those arrowheads must grow like weeds in I guess your garden? There is one other cutting I'm looking for that would be PASSION VINE. Before I had to give my old one away it flowered all through the winter here in a south facing window, no fruits just beautiful flowers. Marina at this time I have ran out of flower pots and I an using just about anything that I can turn into a flower pot ( jars, cups, decorative cans, plastic drinking cups, baby shoes for succulents he also gave me some Sempervivum hens and chicks). I was looking for a variegated cast iron plant cutting, then a family member was coming from visiting family in Georgia he brought be a small clump of it, and boy was I surprised and over joyed not so much overjoyed by the plant but the thoughtfulness of the gift. Much like I'm thankful and overjoyed by the thoughtfulness of your kind offer. I'm happy to meet you Marina. Terri...See MoreUser
