Help with my late mom's plants

Hi, my mom passed away last year in Feb. Since that time, my dad, who does not have a green thumb when it comes to house plants, has taken care of them. They have survived until now. I have asked for them, so that I can take better care of them. I hope. They have made the long trek from Austin, TX to Atlanta, GA. They have been here a week. The Boston Ferns are scraggily and need help, but my question is, when can I repot them - if at all - this summer. I don't want to give them to much of a shock, but I don't know what to do to take care of them, where do I start? I have a numerous of other plants that I need id'ing, as well as advice on how to take care of them.

Thanks.
