Comments (4)Good that you watered it thoroughly, excellent that it's in succulent mix w/ added pumice. Sounds like you're doing everything right, sounds like you're not in danger of overwatering. So it sounds like you're watering every 3-4 days & that seems to be working for you. Mine has thinnish leaves, I've only experienced the thicker leaves on the variegate (much fussier, which I've killed 2-3 times). I've grown this along time & really do regard it as succulents, but I read up a little this am in thinking about your question & seems it's almost more tropical, in terms of can take a fair amount of water. We may both be overestimating its succulentness (?) & related vulnerability to overewatering. I'm going to try & water mine more often. If you think your leaves were thicker, you might try watering it a bit more often & watching it closely, like every 3 days or a bit less. I was just trying to check mine but don't have think enough anything to use in place of a thin dowel to check the soil for moisture w/out poking into a tuber. I ended up dumping it out to check the whole thing, tubers, roots & all. I'm gonna go look now & see what have I done!!!...See MorePlease help my String of Hearts...is dying
Comments (12)How often are you watering? Are you letting it dry down completely between waterings? How much light is it getting? Are you using any fertilizers? If so how much and how often? These two threads will help you, take the time to read them. If you still have questions, we are here to help. Comments (10)Hi Elia, Glad to hear you changed ALL the mix, that was an excellent decision esp since you hadn't liked how the soil felt to you. This is a quick note to touch base, I have a deadline at work in next couple of days, but I wanted to touch base & say how glad I am you're feeling better given my reassurances. I hope to take some to cuttings to set up in water, & restart some new ones. But so you know for the future, tip cuttings can be done in water & then potted when the roots are abt one inch long. One doesn't need a tuber to restart them. But be assured, should you lose yours (I doubt it) I'll share some of mine (tho' mine have a different pattern on their leaves). Hopefully more later or soon....See Moreval1
